The Contest

The Cannon Rocks Kiteboarding Classic is organized, run and enjoyed by kiteboarders, for kiteboarders.

Cedric Vandenschrik is the organiser of the event.  A passionate kiteboarder himself and a local, he knows exactly what the riders are looking for.

Having experience organising events he has the perfect background to run the Cannon Rocks Kiteboarding Classic.

Assisting him is a group of enthusiastic local volunteers who help him deliver an efficiently run contest.

The Cannon Rocks Kiteboarding Classic has a vision of, not only creating a professional platform for Kiteboarders from South Africa and all over the world to compete, but also to giving the opportunity for riders of all level to have fun.

It is also a great opportunity for the public to learn more about this amazing sport and for it to get the exposure it deserves.

The Cannon Rocks Kiteboarding Classic relies on some sponsors but also on the voluntary help of some of the local kiters. Since the first edition in 2010, it has enjoyed a “fun”, “festival” vibe and has always had great turn out in the water and on the beach.

The whole Cannon Rocks community gets behind this event adding to the positive vibe on the beach.

Conditions in Cannon Rocks can be varied, with light conditions to strong wild winds. So far, we’ve been able to put on a show every year!

We get great support from the local businesses who all do their bit to help make this into one of the highlights of the Calendar in Cannon Rocks.
